Liz King
Owner/Baker

My name is Liz, and I am the owner of Working Dog Bakery. I am a wife and mother of two grown daughters, three dogs, and a parrot. I was a housewife for years before I decided that I wanted to do something for myself, my family, and my dogs. I do all the baking, hot work, and heavy lifting. I want Working Dog Bakery to be a success more than anything. Truth is, I just want to sit on the floor and play with dogs all day!

About Us
Working Dog Bakery was founded on guilt. Yep. Guilt. The guilt of sitting down to eat a big bowl of ice cream or a big slab of chocolate cake.
One day, while indulging myself, my three Bernese Mountain Dogs surrounded me with pitiful eyes, dripping mouths and that "don't you love me?" look. I decided that they too, deserved a special treat. The problem is, most store bought treats are rather blah. have you ever tasted a store bought dog treat? Yuck! My girls just didn't seem to get that same delight in a hard, flavorless dog bone than I get from my own desserts. So I set out to make them their own special treats.
Our treats are homemade from all natural ingredients, and contain no artificial preservatives or chemicals. I feel better about feeding them to my dogs because I actually know what all the ingredients are as opposed to the weird things they put in store bought treats. Talley, Sera, Audie and Baker are my official taste testers, but I do limit the amount of treats they get. Pet obesity is a huge problem in America, and your pet's health and well being are as important to us as our own.
All of our treats are Audie and Sera tested, Talley approved. We are confident that your dogs will love our treats as much as our own dogs. Nothing leaves our kitchen without Talley's enthusiastic tail wag and WooWoo! of approval.
Our Dogs
Around the summer of 2001, I was watching Animal Planet on TV when I saw the most beautiul creatures ever to wag a tail on this earth. The show was "Breed All About It", and the breed of the day was the Bernese Mountain Dog. I had never seen one in person, but I remember seeing a picture of one in my vet's office over twenty years before. I had my daughter research them on the internet, and the more I read, the more I knew that this was the dog for me. We found a wonderful breeder who I grew to trust implicitly, and in February 2002, we welcomed Talley into our home.
